Why Are Disasters Getting Worse?

WAKING FROM DISASTER
From the Out of Time Journal
The word Dis-aster means separated (dis) from the stars (aster) or from heaven. This brings us right to the real problem. It seems like one disaster after another is challenging the earthlingship in general and you specifically. None of them are actually solvable within the human framework, in which they are set, yet frantically is everyone trying to shovel themselves out of the quicksand of the threat of suffering and death upon their body-existence.

The world is based on the belief that God is doing this to you, that he is making you suffer and causes your eventual death and that you are helpless before him who holds your little life in his hand, just to blot it out after a while, careless of your hopes and dreams altogether. And what you try to love and to protect he takes from you in time as well.

Let's look at the whole problem instead of just at endless fractionalizations of it and ask a real question:
What have you done that this should be your world?
What have you done that this is what you see?
Let's have the answer from the One who has overcome this world entirely:
From Jesus (A Course In Miracles): Deny your own Identity, and you will not escape the madness which induced this weird, unnatural and ghostly thought that mocks creation and that laughs at God.

The world is an illusion. It is a dream of fierce retaliation for a crime that could not be committed; for attack on what is wholly unassailable. It is a nightmare of abandonment by an Eternal Love, which could not leave the Son whom It created out of love.

The special ones are all asleep, surrounded by a world of loveliness they do not see. Freedom and peace and joy stand there, beside the bier on which they sleep, and call them to come forth and waken from their dream of death.

Your Father loves you. All the world of pain is not His Will. Forgive yourself the thought He wanted this for you.

Salvation requires the acceptance of but one thought; - you are as God created you, not what you made of yourself. Whatever evil you may think you did, you are as God created you. Whatever mistakes you made, the truth about you is unchanged. Creation is eternal and unalterable. Your sinlessness is guaranteed by God. You are and will forever be exactly as you were created. Light and joy and peace abide in you because God put them there.

I will awaken you as surely as I awakened myself, for I awoke for you.

Read more words of truth in the Out of Time Journal and take a chance on letting yourself be so dis-illusioned, that you spring into light and joy.

Katrina: We need a miracle!

In feeling the devastation of Katrina I know that many have asked how could God let this happen? I just received this by email:


Unnatural Disasters

The big news this week was Hurricane Katrina which hit the coast of Louisiana and Mississippi as a category 5 hurricane. Category 1 hurricanes have winds between 74 and 95 miles per hour. Category 2 hurricanes have winds between 96 and 110 miles per hour. Category 3 hurricanes have winds between 111 and 130 miles per hour and these are called "strong" hurricanes. Category 4 hurricanes have winds between 131 and 155 miles per hour and are labeled as, "very strong." Category 5 hurricanes, a level Katrina reached shortly before land fall, have winds over 156 miles per hour and called "devastating." Katrina was devastating.

Hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis are what the world calls "natural disasters." Insurance companies frequently call them, "acts of God." However my study of A Course In Miracles (ACIM) has taught me that no disaster is "natural" and that God does not act by sending us: hurricanes, earthquakes, plagues and droughts. This is an Old Testament way of thinking about God. Hurricane Katrina and the tsunami at the end of last year are not natural, they are unnatural disasters.

A Course In Miracles tells us this about disasters,

"God did not create a meaningless world -- With eyes closed, think of all the horrors in the world that cross your mind. Name each one as it occurs to you, and then deny its reality. God did not create it, and so it is not real. Say, for example: God did not create that disaster [specify], and so it is not real. Suitable subjects for the application of today's idea also include anything you are afraid might happen to you, or to anyone about whom you are concerned."

The Course would have us say, very specifically, "God did not create Hurricane Katrina, and so it is not real." There's nothing natural about the disaster in New Orleans.

A very difficult thought for many people is to accept is that there isn't anything "natural" about nature in general. Many in the New Age want to embrace nature as the supreme representation of the Divine / God energy in manifestation. However ACIM is very clear this is not so. In this next passage the Course is talking about our tendency to see the cycle of birth and death as natural. Nature would tell us that we are born into the world frail and helpless, that eventually we mature physically into biological units able to care for themselves (hopefully). However, then as we age we get less and less able to care for ourselves and frequently leave this world after a protracted period of debilitating frailty and helplessness. ACIM tells us this is NOT natural.

"This is regarded as 'the way of nature,' not to be raised to question, but to be accepted as the 'natural' law of life. The cyclical, the changing and unsure; the undependable and the unsteady, waxing and waning in a certain way upon a certain path, -- all this is taken as the Will of God. And no one asks if a benign Creator could will this." In this perception of the universe as God created it, it would be impossible to think of Him as loving."


Grace is our natural state. Invulnerability is our natural state. Experiences of death, fear, vulnerability, cruelty and inhumanity, they are NOT who and what we are. They are an illusion of ourselves. Think about calling these events, "Acts of God?" What a terrible image of God we have! Who could love such a God who would do such things. I'm not going to befriend a God of this sort. ACIM tells us the following,

"This particularly unfortunate interpretation, which arose out of projection, has led many people to be bitterly afraid of God."

Thanks Tony...you took the words right out of my mouth.....there is only one mind. Yes. I can stand in the full responsibility as the dreamer of this dream...God didn't create this nightmare. I DID! So what is the solution? Awakening from the dream. By grace I live, by grace I am released. All power in heaven and earth is given me. At this moment I am using the power of God's mind to make this world seem real. It is not so. I CAN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS NOT REAL. It never happened. Sure it feels VERY real to those in New Orleans right now. I make it real through my belief in seperation and my desire to be autonomous. I can at any moment through the power of my own mind decide I want only heaven. All I need say is "I want the peace of God" and mean it. Please share this gift of peace.

The Journey That Never Was

I just received a copy of The Journey that never was by co-author DavidPaul. I haven't been able to read many books since I got A Course In Miracles. I will often pick up a book that is ACIM related knowing that a bridge to ACIM can be of value. More often I feel a compromise or the dryness of pure concepts with no real experience. This book felt different from the start. It has a simplicity and a purity that represents the bridge to truth that the Holy Spirit IS. I have only read the first few chapters but wanted to share this paragraph about Jesus.

"I came with but one simple Gospel, and, unto anyone who would listen, I would look into their eyes and say but one thing: 'you are already the one you seek. And that which you would strive to be forgiven for has already been forgiven. And the past that has weighed you down already has been destroyed by the Light of perfect Love that this world cannot comprehend.'".

I could literally FEEL Jesus looking at me while I listened to these words.

International Day of Peace

“Joy to the World”

One day a teacher of A Course In Miracles showed up in front of me and said something that no-one had ever said before:

“I have just come to tell you that you’re not from here, you never were and it’s time to go home”….

That was it…it was my call to awaken and I answered it. I was shown the door and I stepped through it. I remember when that happened I had a vision of a bird in a cage. It was perched at the open door tempted to look back and call to all the other birds in the cage to come. I knew what I had to do. I saw in that instant like a camera frame by frame capturing the bird in flight as it left the cage, that there was only ONE. Each frame represented everyONE in the Sonship. I saw when it was done by one it WAS done by all. My part could only be to join that MIND and all would follow. My cry for help had been answered.

Salvation is my only function here.
God still is Love, and this is not His Will.

Your Father loves you. All the world of pain is not His Will. Forgive yourself the thought He wanted this for you. Then let the Thought with which He has replaced all your mistakes enter the darkened places of your mind that thought the thoughts that never were His Will. This part belongs to God, as does the rest. It does not think its solitary thoughts, and make them real by hiding them from Him. Let in the light, and you will look upon no obstacle to what He wills for you. Open your secrets to His kindly light, and see how bright this light still shines in you. Practice His Thought today, and let His light seek out and lighten up all darkened spots, and shine through them to join them to the rest. It is God's Will your mind be one with His.

It is God's Will that He has but one Son. It is God's Will that His one Son is you.

A Course In Miracles ~ Lesson 99

God's Will for me is perfect happiness ~ as I give this message away I hear it for myself and I remember for everyone. I am only EVER teaching myself. This is the end of time and as we shine on each other we remember the moment that we all sprang into heaven. This experience is contagious. I HAVE to give this away. A Course In Miracles worked, as the blocks to love's awareness are removed, the clouds are gone I can no more stop the sun from shining. The Course was given to me to GIVE. Thank you Jesus.

Many of you share my gratitude for the Master Teacher. The Master is a flame and I the moth am drawn directly into that flame where I disappear. Here I am free of the little self I once believed I was. Here I am free of guilt and free to accept and experience God's Judgment of me instead of my own.

"You are still My holy Son, forever innocent, forever loving and forever loved, as limitless as your Creator, and completely changeless and forever pure. Therefore awaken and return to Me. I am your Father and you are My Son."

I am certain that there is nothing that cannot be healed at this altar within my mind. In that experience Jesus stands with me and all my brothers, as we are joyfully remembering Him. It's a miracle!

The extension of that light is the vision of The Miracle Times. It is an opportunity to GIVE. Thanks to all of you who have shared your light by expressing your own personal experiences. You have given me something beautiful to extend through his vehicle. Nothing gives me more joy than receiving YOUR light and finding a creative way to shine WITH you. I love you.

Please join us in extending the joy of our awakening to everyone. Together we can offer to the world the holy instant of pure love wherein earth disappeared into the heart of God. The Miracle Times is here for us to experience and share.
